The NFL announced Tuesday morning that the Denver Broncos and Kansas City Chiefs will meet Sept. 14 in the opening game of ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” schedule.
The league has not yet revealed where the game will be played, as officials continue finalizing details ahead of Thursday night’s full 2026 schedule release.
Another major question surrounding the matchup is the status of Patrick Mahomes. The two-time NFL MVP suffered tears to the ACL and LCL in his left knee on Dec. 14, leaving his availability for the season opener uncertain.
The NFL also confirmed that the Cincinnati Bengals will face the Atlanta Falcons in Madrid on Nov. 8 as part of the league’s record-setting slate of nine international games in 2026.
