Police have identified two Wichita men as the victims of a fatal accident on Christmas Eve morning: 26-year-old Eduardo Viurques, and 28-year-old Boris Guzman-Mendoza.
At about 1:00 a.m., Thursday, officers responded to single-vehicle accident north of Douglas & Webb.
Officers located the victims unresponsive, and a 32-year-old male passenger with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Medical personnel arrived on scene and pronounced Viurques and Guzman-Mendoza dead at the scene. The 32-year-old was transported to by EMS to a hospital.
The investigation revealed the Acura TL was south-bound on Webb Road when the driver lost control and struck a tree, ejecting Viurques and Guzman-Mendoza. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors.
This is the 35th fatal accident of this year worked by Wichita police.
