The Wichita Board of Education voted unanimously Monday night to ratify employment agreements with United Teachers of Wichita, Service Employees International Union, classified employees and meet-and-confer groups.

Board members also voted to extend the COVID-19 leave benefits for Wichita Public School employees through May 31, 2021.

USD 259 Superintendent Dr. Alicia Thompson told the board that there will be a virtual Showcase of Choices and Opportunities event.  It will happen 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 and will highlight the district's magnet school options. For details, go to http://usd259.org/magnet.

The board will next meet on Monday, January 11th and will discuss bringing students back to the schools.
