Wichita City Council member Brandon Johnson, from District I, was unanimously approved as the city's new Vice Mayor. Johnson was nominated by out-going Vice Mayor Cindy Claycomb.
Judge Jennifer Jones administered the oath of office.
The Vice Mayor will serve a term of one year.
