Wichita Festivals cuts staff, CEO, cites pandemic losses

-

The group that organizes the annual Wichita Riverfest is making changes following the cancelation of their biggest event earlier this year, resulting in a 90% loss in revenue.

The board of directors announced on Wednesday that three staff positions, along with president/CEO Ty Tabing have been cut.

Officials also announced that the Hey Neighbor campaign, an emergency fundraising campaign, will begin on Oct. 8. You'll be able to find drive-thru donation stations and other opportunities to contribute to help the organization through the tough times.

Meanwhile, the launch of Wonderfall, an event that was scheduled for the first week of November has been postponed. The River Run race will be presented virtually on Nov. 7. Runners can CLICK HERE to register.  Runners will receive a race t-shirt and medallion.
