Wichita police have arrested 36-year-old Christopher Everett and 33-year-old James Fulfer, and investigators believe they are responsible for 20 cases involving thefts from vehicles.

Three weeks ago, a backpack was stolen from a car in the parking lot of the Walgreens at 37th Street North & Woodlawn. Officers identified Everett as the suspect, and they located his car downtown at an apartment complex at Central & Waco. As police arrived, Everett and Fulfer tried to run, but were arrested after a short foot pursuit.

Officers found Everett with a window-punch, and Fulfer had stolen property from the theft on N. Woodlawn.

After several days of compiling case information, speaking to victims, and obtaining and reviewing video, detectives tied the arrestees to 20 separate investigations involving theft from vehicles. Both were charged for a total of 26 felony counts, and 28 misdemeanor counts involving theft, aggravated weapons violations, auto burglaries, and drug possession. Both arrestees have prior arrests and convictions on their criminal records.
