Wichita's Third Quarter 2020 financial report was released Tuesday.
The general fund is performing slightly better than expected but expenditures will soon exceed the revised budget. The city council will make adjustments when they're presented in December.
Sales tax revenue is in great shape, with $1.8 million more this quarter compared to 2019. Meanwhile, police spending is $2.1 million over budget.
The city's transient guest tax fund revenue is down $700 thousand. The city says that shortfalls could impact the general fund.
The golf fund is still challenged but it had a positive third quarter. Golf rounds were down 3.9% and revenues down 7%. But the city spent 18% less, helping them to get over $462 thousand on the plus side.
The city has applied for roughly $12 million in CARES Act funding from the county, which will be forthcoming.
