The Wichita City Council approved a loan extension for the owner of the Starlite Drive-In.

In 2018, the city loaned the owner, Blake Smith, $200 thousand for new equipment. Mr. Smith has requested prior extensions due to the pandemic. The latest six-month moratorium request was a result of financial hardship caused by summer storms.

The council also approved an agreement and funding for bridge inspections, rehabilitation and repair. That agreement will cost the city just over $234 thousand. The city's CIP also includes $1 million in ongoing projects now and another $1 million in 2026.

Wichita Police will complete facility improvements for the city's main property and evidence building and will purchase new protective equipment for officers after approval by the council.
