An Airman from McConnell Airforce Base has been hospitalized following a lighting strike on the flight line. It happened shortly after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon.
A news release says co-workers alerted emergency responders on the base. It says, they competed an initial assessment of the conscious Airman, who was transported to an area hospital for further evaluation. A condition was not released.
There were three reports of people being struck by lightning in the Wichita area Wednesday afternoon. One person was reported in serious condition, one had minor injuries, and another whose condition is unknown.
