Shortly after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sedgwick County Dispatchers began receiving reports about a gas odor or a gas leak. The reports were coming in from areas largely north of 13th street in Wichita and Andover, with a report coming in from as far west as Maize.
Andover police said a fire department investigation revealed that the odor is coming from a nearby asphalt plant. Authorities have determined that there is no danger to the community and the area is safe.
