A child was hospitalized after being hit by a car Friday evening.
Emergency crews responded around 8:45 p.m. to the intersection of Jewell and St. Clair, located east of Meridian in southwest Wichita.
Police said the child was out playing in the street when they were struck. The child suffered critical injuries but is expected to survive.
