Crime Stoppers of Wichita - Sedgwick County is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the identification of two people from a possible abduction in N. Wichita.
The incident happened around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday Oct. 12 in the 1400 block of N. Volutsia, west of 13th & Hillside. In video captured on a Ring doorbell camera, a man appears to be taking a woman against her will away from a house as she screams.
Wichita police want to identify both the man and woman seen in the video, and Police Chief Joe Sullivan said the department’s priority remains the woman’s safety.
Since releasing photos and video of the incident, police said they have received more than two dozen tips; however, the tips have yet to yield any credible leads.
Officers have canvassed the neighborhood multiple times, even expanding the area of the investigation, but have not uncovered new leads nor additional footage.
Capt. Aaron Moses said detectives have thoroughly checked missing persons reports and nearby disturbance reports since the incident occurred; all missing persons reports filed this month do not match the woman seen in the video.
Moses said anyone who recognizes either person in the video should contact authorities immediately to be eligible for the $2,000 reward.
Investigators may be reached directly at (316) 268-4077, or Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
Police said there have been no reports of similar incidents elsewhere in the city, and there's no ongoing threat to the public.
