UPDATE: Two people are dead following a wrong-way accident involving a pair of pickup trucks in Wichita.
The accident happened shortly after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. Police say a pickup, driven by Brandon White, 37, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Kellogg. It struck several vehicles before colliding head-on with another pickup driven by Rayburn Langston, 50. The drivers of both pickups died. White died at the scene while Langston was transported to an area hospital, but later died from his injuries.
It's not known how White ended up going the wrong way. The roadway was closed for around six hours.

A accident on westbound Kellogg on Tuesday morning claimed the lives of two persons.

Around 9:15 a.m., an accident occurred between West Street and Meridian. It necessitated the use of two pickup trucks.
According to initial reports, a pickup traveling the wrong way collided with another pickup head-on.
At least three others were hurt in the crash.
The Wichita Police Department advises drivers to avoid westbound Kellogg from downtown to West Street. The department said westbound Kellogg will be shut down for several hours.
