A woman and man from Murdock, Kansas, were killed in a traffic accident in Kingman County; it happened late Tuesday afternoon about 35 miles west of Wichita -- seven miles west of Cheney.
A Chevy Malibu was going west-bound on SE 20th Street when it crossed into on-coming traffic, a box truck driven by a 42-year-old man from Wichita. Both vehicles veered to the right, colliding head-on, and landing in a ditch.
The driver of the Malibu, 68-year-old Margaret Sue Thompson, and a passenger, 72-year-old Marvin Thompson, both died a little more than an hour later; they were not wearing seat belts.
