Two Wichita men were arrested Friday, each accused of child sex crimes.

Sedgwick County deputies arrested 50-year-old James Wells. In August of 2025, prosecutors say he fondled a child.

It's not the first time Wells has had legal trouble. In 2006, he was charged and convicted of similar crimes in Nemaha County, in northeast Kansas.

Wells is in the Sedgwick County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

Meanwhile, Wichita Police arrested 35-year-old Brett Eck on suspicion of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

Records indicate that Eck’s alleged victim is under the age of 14.
