Wichita Police say an overnight shooting near the downtown area has injured 4 teenagers.
Around 2:10 a.m., officers were in the area of 400 W. Central investigating an unrelated incident when they heard gunshots nearby.
They responded to an apartment complex in the 500 block of W. Central and found an 18-year-old woman lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Two girls, ages 16 and 17, were also found at the scene with minor injuries resulting from the gunfire. They were treated on the scene by medical personnel.
The suspect, a 19-year-old man, was located inside a nearby apartment complex, suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower extremities. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police say a disturbance occurred prior to the shooting and that the individuals knew each other. The investigation into this case continues.
