A State of Disaster Emergency has been declared for Kansas. It's due to a fuel shortage across the state.
The order from the Governor on Thursday waives hours of service for haulers to get gas and diesel to the pumps.
However, this is not a supply issue. Fuel experts say it's more of a bottle-neck in the delivery process. Factors include factories switching over to the required summer blend, repairs being made to a pipeline as well as demand.
Under the disaster declaration, the Highway Patrol will not issue citations for truckers who exceed the 60-hour limit.
