An Augusta man drowned over the weekend in a Nebraska lake. Nance County, Nebraska Sheriff's Deputies say the accident happened around 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon in a private lake south of Genoa, Nebraska.
Wayne Mathias, 79, was swimming about 100 feet from shore when he called for help and disappeared under the water.
A Platte County, Nebraska dive team used sonar and divers to search the area to locate and recover his body.
