Federal prosecutors say a Kansas man has been ordered to repay $40 million to the IRS for tax fraud. Scott Tucker, 59, a former racecar driver from Leawood, was also sentenced to three years in prison for the scheme.

Tucker pleaded guilty in November to one count of filing a false or fraudulent tax return. The U.S. Attorney's office in Kansas said in a news release Wednesday that Tucker submitted false tax returns in 2010 for his professional auto racing business called Level 5.
Tucker's sentence in Kansas will be concurrent with a sentence of more than 16 years he is serving in New York for evading taxes on a nationwide $3.5 billion internet payday lending enterprise.
