A Lansing Correctional Facility inmate died Friday after being transported to a Leavenworth hospital.
The Kansas Department of Corrections says the death of Lawrence A. Brown, Jr., 32, is not believed to be COVID-19 related. An autopsy is pending.
Brown was serving a 122-month sentence for a Sedgwick County conviction of battery of a Corrections Officer or Employee. Per protocol, when an inmate dies in the custody of KDOC, the death is under investigation by KDOC and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI).
