The Kansas Department of Labor has released the September 2025 Kansas Labor Report. Preliminary estimates reported by KDOL and the Bureau of Labor Statistics show a seasonally adjusted unemployment rate of 3.8% in September. This is unchanged from 3.8% in August and unchanged from 3.8% in September 2024.
Seasonally adjusted job estimates for Kansas indicate private sector jobs decreased by 2,000 over the month. Due to the lapse in federal funding during the federal government shutdown, all Bureau of Labor Statistics operations were suspended from Oct. through Nov. 12. As a result, KDOL will publish the October results with the November 2025 data on January 7th.
