What is believed to be an accidental shooting at a Wichita motel seriously injured one man. It happened just before 10:00 Monday morning in the 84-hundred block of west Kellogg Drive.

Police say the injured 33-year-old man was shot in his stomach, and was taken to a hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The man was treated and released.
Investigators learned that the man was with an acquaintance, when the handgun the acquaintance had in his waistband was accidentally dropped and a round was fired. The man's acquaintance left the scene before officers arrived.
Wichita Police say the investigation is ongoing.
