Police are conducting an investigation after a body was found in the Arkansas River in the south part of Wichita Thursday afternoon.
9-1-1 dispatch received calls around 4:00 p.m. reporting a possible body floating in the river near Pawnee & Broadway.
Officers found the body of a man, possibly in his late 30s, floating in the river.
Police officers worked with the Wichita Fire Department to recover the man’s body.
Detectives are working with the Sedgwick County Coroner’s Office to determine the man’s identity and cause of death.
