For the fourth time in eight weeks, Wichita's McConnell Air Force base is relocating its aircraft due to this weekend's projected severe weather.
McConnell’s active duty and Reserve team is launching and relocating the base’s KC-46A Pegasus and KC-135R Stratotanker aircraft to other military bases across the country. This will ensure the aircraft maintain full readiness to support current and any future missions while also avoiding any potential damage should severe weather hit.
All remaining aircraft, vehicles and equipment are being stored in hangars.
Previous weather relocations this year took place March 5, April 1 and April 17.
