Meitzner says Sedgwick County making "great progress" in fighting pandemic

Sedgwick County Coimmission Chair Pete Meitzner tells KNSS News the county is "making great progress" in battling the coronavirus pandemic. He says phases 3 and 4 in vaccinations are underway and the county could go to the final phase by the end of the week. That would allow anyone over the age of 18 to get the shots.

The Kansas legislature is moving toward taking pandemic restrictions out of the hands of local officials. Meitzner says the county may lift its mask restrictions this week, but that doesn't prevent individuals and businesses from continuing to "mask up".

Meitzner says he realizes many people are reluctant to be vaccinated, but he thinks they should "double think that".

Meitzner commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
