A new trail in north-central Wichita explores the history of the city’s Mexican-Americans.
The City of Wichita held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Woodland Park Historical Walk Trail; Woodland Park is located near 21st Street North & the Little Arkansas River.
Woodland has been part of Wichita's park system for more than a century. Along the new trail, visitors will encounter newly-installed interpretive panels, highlighting the experiences of immigrants.
The North End Wichita Historical Society, founded seven years ago, preserves history related to Wichita’s Mexican-American community.
