Plane makes emergency landing in western Kansas

A twin-engine Piper aircraft lost both of its engines Saturday afternoon and was forced to land in a field in western Kansas.

Lane County emergency crews were dispatched just after 2:30 p.m. for the aircraft emergency west of Dighton, in the vicinity of K-96 and Jagger Road.

The pilot and two passengers were uninjured and the plane was not significantly damaged. The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating.
