Wichita Police are busy investigating four weekend shooting incidents, including one that turned fatal.

Reports of gunfire were heard just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the 6300 block of W. Kellogg, near Dugan.

As officers were investigating, they learned that two men had arrived at a local hospital. A 37-year-old man later died from his injuries while a 54-year-old man is in serious but stable condition. Police say it appears a disturbance broke out prior to the shooting. No arrests have been made.

The second shooting took place about 45 minutes later, in the 500 block of N. Nims, near Central Riverside Park. Police say a large fight erupted at an apartment complex. A 31-year-old woman was shot in the upper torso and was transported to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.

Officers also located three additional victims, a 28-year-old woman, a 32-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man, who had been battered during the fight. The suspects fled the scene prior to officers’ arrival.

Later, a third shooting left three people in critical condition and Police are working to determine if it is connected to either of the overnight incidents.

It happened just before 3:30 Saturday afternoon in the 2500 block of E. 25th St. The three victims include a 23-year-old woman, a 50-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man.

Wichita Police Chief Joe Sullivan told our partners at 12 News that a child was also inside the home at the time of the shooting. Officers are continuing to investigate.

Then Sunday morning around 2 o’clock, another shooting was reported, at the intersection of 13th and Mosley in north Wichita.

Emergency crews found a man in critical condition. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police say a person who identified himself as the shooter was taken into custody.
