
The Wichita Police Department (WPD) is investigating a traffic collision that critically injured a man, 27, from Wichita.
At approximately 7:25 am Wednesday morning, WPD officers responded to an injury accident of a motorcycle versus vehicle at the intersection of Pawnee and Hiram. On arrival, Officers located the motorcycle rider who had been ejected from his motorcycle after colliding with a Dodge Ram, driven by a 15-year-old boy.
EMS and Wichita Fire rendered emergency medical aid to the motorcycle rider and transported him to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The rider sustained burns to a large portion of his body after the Pickup truck caught on fire due to the impact.
Investigators learned that the man was westbound on Pawnee when he collided with the Dodge Ram, which was attempting to make a left turn from southbound Hiram onto eastbound Pawnee. The driver of the pickup truck was able to exit the vehicle unharmed.
