President Donald Trump said the U.S. was decertifying Bombardier Global Express business jets; he's also threatened 50% import tariffs on all aircraft made in Canada, until the Canadian regulator certified a number of planes produced by U.S. rival Gulfstream.

Bombardier's United States headquarters is located in Wichita.

Bombardier responded to Trump's comments, saying it has more than 3,000 workers in the U.S. in nine major facilities, and creates thousands of American jobs through 2,800 suppliers.

A White House official says Trump is not suggesting decertifying planes currently in operation.

Bombardier stock dropped 9% after President Trump's comments.
