Primary Election happened in Wichita Tuesday. For the Wichita City Council, there are two seats that are up for reelection in November and residents voted for the top two candidates for those seats.
In District Three, incumbent Jared Cerullo faced six challengers, Jason Carmichael, Mike Hoheisel, Jerome C. Crawford, Tevin Smith, Cindy Mils and Ian M. Demory. Cerullo was chosen earlier this year to replace James Clendenin's seat after the latter resigned at the end of 2020. According to Sedgwick County unofficial final results, Cerullo and Hoheisel will advance to the general election.
District Six incumbent Cindy Claycomb was running against Derek C. Reynolds, Martin G. Garcia, Loren John Hermreck Jr., Maggie Ballard and Andy Speck. Ultimately Claycomb and Ballard will be on November's ballot.
In Park City, Ward One's primary election saw incumbent John Lehnherr facing against challengers Angie Carter and Charley Davidson. Davidson and Carter advanced to the general election.
