Pre-election voting is underway in Sedgwick County. Election Commissioner Laura Rainwater predicts voter turnout between 10 and 15 %. She says some 20,000 registered voters in the county have no races to vote on. Rainwater says she guarantees the accuracy "100 percent". She says the process has "many controls in place", plus there is an audit after election.
19 satellite polling places opened across the county Thursday. They are open from 10 am to 6 pm Thursday and Friday, and 9 am to 1 pm Saturday.
Rainwater says 650 volunteers are paid to help the voting process run smoothly. They range in age from 16 to 90 years old.
Election Day is next Tuesday, with polls open in Sedgwick County from 7 am to 7 pm.
