Sedgwick County's fiscal condition remains sound and several pressures outside of the county's control have improved, according to a report released Wednesday morning.

Those factors include easing inflation, leveling of interest rates and low unemployment.

Budget discussions are planned over the coming months, including an updated ARPA spending plan.

Lindsay Poe Rousseau, the county's CFO, says they've learned that a significant portion of their $100.2 million ARPA allocation could be used for revenue replacement, income the county lost during the pandemic from 2020 to 2022. While most of those funds are earmarked or spent, the county does have over $17 million left in contingency.

The next quarterly and ARPA spending report will be released in early May.
