Wichita Fire rescue crews and Sedgwick County EMS responded to a drowning call at Rock River Rapids in Derby. It happened just before 9:00 p.m. Friday evening.
Derby police said a 3-year-old boy was swimming alone during a party when a lifeguard saved him from drowning.
KWCH-TV reports the child was alert and responsive when emergency responders arrived. He was transported to a Wichita hospital.
