An accident has seriously injured the driver of a semi-truck following a single vehicle accident. It happened just after 2:00 p.m. Monday afternoon on east 1st, between Oliver and Woodlawn.
The driver was found pinned in the cab of the truck. The Harvey County Sheriff's Office said that it took emergency responders over an hour to free the driver. Hydraulic spreaders were used to cut away parts of the cab to get access to the driver.
The driver was extracted and transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Crews remained on the scene to clean up a diesel fuel spill.
The cause of the accident has not been determined.
