A semi truck driver died following a single-vehicle crash in Clark County. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol it happened around 11 a.m. Monday on US-160 Highway, about 2.5 miles east of the US-283 junction, west of Ashland.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 42-year-old Rene Fugueroa Jr. of Dodge City was driving a Freightliner semi eastbound on U.S. 160 when he went into the ditch. An investigation concluded Fugueroa Jr. overcorrected, crossed into the westbound lane, entered the north ditch, and rolled. He was taken to St. Catherine's in Dodge City for treatment but was later pronounced dead.
According to the KHP report, Fugueroa Jr. was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
