A 36-year-old man is dead after being shot Saturday in Wellington.
Wellington Police officers responded around 3:30 Saturday afternoon to the 1200 block of east Harvey. They found a man with a gunshot wound to the upper chest area. Despite the work of first responders, the man died at the scene.
Police say a 66-year-old Wellington man was taken into custody and was booked into the Sumner County Detention Facility pending formal charges.
The name of the victim has not been released. The investigation continues in this case.
