At approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance call at Blu nightclub at Maple & Tyler. They located Long in the parking lot, unresponsive with a head injury.

Officers learned that Long was leaving the bar and got into an argument with someone in the parking lot. A 34-year-old man, identified as Christopher Parish of Wichita, then went up to Long and shoved him, causing him to fall backward and hit his head. He was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS.

Parish was contacted on scene and transported to City Hall, and subsequently booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on a charge of involuntary manslaughter. The case will be presented to the District Attorney’s Office.
