Police are investigating the murder of a 13-year-old boy from Wichita, after a shooting.
On Halloween at 10:36 p.m., officers responded to a report of gunfire at the QuikTrip at Central & Oliver, where police discovered evidence of a shooting.
At that same time, a report was received from Wesley Medical Center indicating that victims of this shooting had been brought in with a private vehicle, and a sizable police presence convened at the hospital at Central & Hillside.
The victims include a 15-year-old boy from Wichita, who suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, and the younger teen, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival at the hospital.
Initial investigations reveal a disturbance occurred in the QuikTrip parking lot, leading to the suspect firing at a crowd, resulting in injuries for the two victims. Detectives interviewed several people after the shooting, most of whom were uncooperative.
Police have identified a suspect and are looking for the person.
