A convicted felon who walked away from the Wichita Work Release Facility is back in custody.
Zachary Leis, 28, was placed on escape status at just after midnight Tuesday morning after it was reported that he walked away from Wichita Work Release Facility. .
The Kansas Department of Corrections says Leis turned himself in shortly before noon Tuesday.
Leis is serving a sentence for aggravated assault, aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, and two counts of domestic battery.
