At Monday night's BOE meeting, board members unanimously approved the district's recommendation to have secondary students who chose the onsite learning model to return five days a week beginning March 29. My School Remote learning will continue for families who chose that learning model.

USD 259 Superintendent Dr. Alicia Thompson said that families who want to transtion from remote to onsite learning can do so by contacting their school prinicipal.

All spring sport athletes for high schools will return to onsite learning if they chose onsite as their preferred learning model.

Dr. Thompson stated that the MySchool Remote learning option will not be offered school next year, as it is not allowed based on language in the Kansas State Department of Education’s Navigating Next plan. The Education Imagine Academy option will remain next school year for those who want to participate in virtual education.

Dr. Thompson said 4,590 USD 259 teachers and staff have received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose as of March 7. The second vaccine doses will be available starting on March 13. Vaccinations and testing will continue by appointment through the spring.
