A wave of light snow will move through southern Kansas along an advancing cold front.
The snow will be powdery and dry, with winds shifting toward the north later in the day.
Skies will clear and winds go light tonight, setting us up with ideal cooling conditions to plunge temperatures to dangerous levels. Lows drop into the negatives temperatures for most of Kansas, and a Cold Weather Advisory covers most of the state.
There will not be much wind, but even the lightest breeze on Tuesday morning will push the wind chills as low as -20 degrees; it's advised for people to bundle up, dress in layers, and drip your faucets tonight.
Recovery from the arctic blast begins Tuesday, with winds switching around to the southwest and abundant sunshine, although it may take central Kansas one more day to shake off the freeze.
