The Wichita City Council met in executive session this morning to discuss the naming of a new city manager. Robert Layton is retiring at year's end, after 16 years on the job. Mayor Lily Wu tells KNSS News nearly 100 people applied for the position. A search committee looked at the applications and narrowed the field for virtual interviews.
Wu says the City will release the names of "three or four" finalists for the position this afternoon.
