Gaskill was one of three people charged in the December, 2017 swatting incident that resulted in the fatal police shooting of Andrew Finch, 28.

Prosecutors said that Gaskill was involved in an online argument with Casey Vinter, of Ohio, while playing a video game. They said Viner asked Tyler Barriss to swat Gaskill. Barriss reported a false shooting and kidnapping in order to get police to respond at Gaskills residence. But the Wichita address, provided to Vinter by Gaskill was outdated, leading police to Finch's Wichita house. Finch was shot by police after he opened the door and failed to comply with orders from the officers.

Barriss is serving 20 years in prison.  Viner received a 15-month sentence.

Gaskill will be sentenced July 21.
