Wichita mayor Brandon Whipple spent part of his Monday helping to build a house for Habitat for Humanity. Whipple tells KNSS News the local housing market is strong, and that means a shortage of affordable housing for many people. He says the city council has earmarked $5 million to look for ways to partner with non-profits to create and find more affordable housing.
