UPDATE: A suspect has been taken into custody after a standoff that lasted 14 hours. Wichita Police say the incident began after 1 a.m. near Topeka and Orme. A woman called police to the scene reporting that a man had assaulted her.

South of downtown, Wichita police are engaged in a standoff with a man.
According to police, the situation began early on Monday morning at a house close to Topeka and Orme. According to KSN News, police were called to the scene after a lady complained that a guy had assaulted her there.
Officers learned that the man was still inside. The SWAT team and crisis negotiators are working on getting him to surrender. Police believe that the man is armed.
