The suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash in west Wichita last week made her first court appearance on Friday.
26-year-old Shardea Lawyer is charged with failure to stop at an accident that resulted in the death of 38-year-old Kristina Kramer Rogers.
Just before 11:30 Friday night, May 8, officers were dispatched to Taft and Leonine Road to investigate a hit and run report. They found Rogers in critical condition. She was transported to a local hospital but died from her injuries.
Lawyer was arrested and booked in the case. Her next court appearance is slated for Tuesday, May 26.
