The Sedgwick County Election Office says inaccurate information was recently distributed regarding the upcoming March 3 City of Wichita sales tax election.

The information was sent to tens of thousands of Wichita voters by the group Wichita Forward, who is in favor of the 1% sales tax.

The mailer incorrectly stated that mail ballots were due by February 24, when in fact they are actually due by 7 p.m. on Election Day, March 3. It also incorrectly stated that polls open at 6 a.m., instead of 7 a.m., on Election Day.

The Sedgwick County Election Office says they remain committed to providing eligible voters with accurate information and equal access. If you have a question about elections, you are encouraged to visit the Sedgwick County Election Office website or contact the office directly at (316) 660-7100.
