A Wichita woman charged in the death of her boyfriend in February 2020 has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
On February 12, 2020 officers responded to a shots fired call near Harry and Oliver. Rina Nguyen, 20, who was 18 at the time of the shooting, and another girl, 17, were at a home in the 1500 block of S.
Battin.
Prosecutors say an argument broke out and Nguyen obtained a handgun and shot Amare Holt, 22, as he walked out of the front door. Holt was transported to an area hospital, but later died from his injury.
Police said that the couple had a documented domestic violence case from December 2019.
Sentencing was set for June 10.
