
Elite volleyball play continues, with wins Wednesday for Wichita State, Cowley College, and Butler Community College.

Wichita State won on the road in Tulsa; after losing the opening set, the Shockers were dominant down the stretch, winning the final three sets. It was WSU's sixth straight win, as the Shockers improved to 12-6 on the season, holding on to fourth place in the American Conference standings. It was also WSU coach Chris Lamb's birthday.
WSU's defense was stifling, with the Shockers recording a season-high 94 digs, including a career-high 22 digs from freshman Morgan Weber; Wichita State also had nine blocks at the net.
Sophomore Kayce Litzau had 46 assists, and felow sophomore Brylee Kelly added 20 kills.
Morgan Stout, a freshman from Nickerson high school, tallied a half dozen blocks; and sophomore Sophia Rohling finished with a .435 hitting percentage, with 11 kills and only one hitting error.
In junior college action:
*Cowley swept visiting Coffeyille in three sets. Cowley is ranked #1 in the nation in Division II, with a record of 31-0. The Tigers are the only undefeated team in Division II.
*Butler got a sweep on the road, winning at Hutchinson community college in three sets. The Grizzlies are ranked #4 in the nation, with a record of 29-2. Butler now has a 25-match winning streak; the Grizzlies haven't lost a match since August 27th.
